Confirmation

The Confirmation program is offered to 8th and 9th graders and runs from September to May. Confirmands are led through major aspects of Christian faith and the Reformed tradition by the pastoral staff through teaching, hands-on experiences and trips.

Led collaboratively by Pastors Michael and Jessica and Director of Youth Autum Lum, the class is guided by the Presbyterian Church USA curriculum “Big God, Big Questions”.  These lessons are organized around the four questions confirmands answer when they become members of the church:
– Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?
– Who is your Lord and Savior?
– Will you be Christ’s faithful disciple obeying his word and showing his love?
– Will you devote yourself to the church’s teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers?

They share with one another and their mentors (NPC members) about what discipleship and belief in Jesus Christ means to them and, by the end of the year, they write their own faith statement.

If you have questions or would like to serve as a mentor, contact Paster Jessica Gregory.
