Stewardship Straight Talk: Music

Categories: Stewardship

In our recent Mission Study, members cited music as one of the most cherished aspects of Northminster: incredible organ and piano accompaniment, the Chancel Choir, soloists, hymns sung together, special musicians, adult and youth hand bell choirs and the Cherub Choir.

If we had more resources, we could:

  • Have brass musicians on Easter
  • Continue to broaden our choral library for more music variety
  • Create and perform special music services like we have done in the past, “Faure Requiem,” for example
  • Replace aging handbell choir tables, folders, and special music stands

And without more resources, we will need to consider the following:

  • A diminished presence of our soloists
  • Recycle the same music more frequently
  • Delay needed maintenance on the organ pipes
  • Eliminate special music services

Strong Stewardship support provides for continued beautiful music offerings while allowing for creative, joyful additions.
