In our role of ministering to the spiritual and earthly needs of the congregation, Northminster’s Deacons would like to recognize and celebrate “new beginnings.” Let us know if you or a family member is undertaking any of these: welcoming a new baby (either as parents or grandparents), celebrating a marriage, starting a new job, retiring from… Since 1983, Soup at Six has provided dinner from the basement gym of the Hemenway United Methodist Church, 933 Chicago Avenue in Evanston. This soup kitchen feeds the hungry every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Northminster is part of the group (originally six) that provides soup. If you (and perhaps your children/friends/spouse/teammates) would be willing to make… Use the Mission Basket to donate all of those small toiletries you may have collected while traveling this year. We are collecting soap, shampoo, conditioner and similar toiletry finds. Socks can also be dropped off for the homeless–preferably white tube socks.
