Morning Ashes to Go with Pastors Michael and Jessica at Davis St. Station March 6th

Categories: Uncategorized

The tradition of wearing ashes on one’s forehead or wrist on Ash Wednesday as a sign of faithfulness and repentance as the Lenten Season begins  is ages old. More recently, to accommodate busy morning schedules, many churches including Northminster, have forgone morning worship services and gone out into the streets in the ecumenical movement called “Ashes To Go.”

Weather permitting, receive imposition of ashes and private prayer from Pastors Michael and Jessica beginning at 7 a.m. at the North entrance to the Davis Street Metra Station in Evanston.

All who receive ashes will also be told about our Candle Light Service of Ashes and Communion Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
