Women at Northminster meet informally once a month on second Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Panera Bread in Wilmette for coffee and conversation. We usually gather once a year for a spiritual retreat and each Advent beginning season for music and poetry fellowship.
Contact Rosemary Nielsen for more information on the Second Saturday meetings.
Most years women gather for a retreat on the Spring period. It is a day of reflection, conversation, challenge, and fun. In a combination of small group conversation and lecture formats, we brainstorm meaning behind selected themes, and learning about the theological and psychological foundations for letting go, and explored the tool of journaling as a method for giving our joys and concerns to God.
In between three sessions together, we also share lunch and dinner. On Sunday morning, we worship and celebrate communion together. In just over 24 hours, we connect deeply to each other and to God.
Our retreats are meaningful and transformative. If you are interested in learning more about upcoming women’s retreats, contact Pastor Jessica Gregory.
Steamboat Springs Women’s Retreat
Every two or three years, church member Pam Rolfes hosts a small women’s retreat in her home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Pastor Jessica creates programming around a unique theme chosen by she and Pam and together, nestled in the beautiful mountains, they offer the gathered community and unique and meaningful retreat experience.
During the four nights and three days they are gathered, the group goes hiking and sees some of Steamboat many beautiful sites. It also engages in a variety of conversations, worship and prayerful activities. If you are interested in going on this retreat, please contact Jessica.
