Adult Education, April 22nd — Learn about Young Women’s Program at Curt’s Café South

Categories: Adult Education,Mission

On Sunday April 22nd at 11:10 a.m. in the Guild Room, Karli Butler will discuss the young women’s program at Curt’s Café South. Karli is a graduate of Evanston’s Citizen Police Academy. She has served as a mentor and crime victim advocate and has training in domestic violence and sexual trauma. She is a trained Circle Keeper with Restorative Justice Evanston and works as a social service provider in Curt’s Café South.

Curt’s Café South assists women who are homeless, food insecure, in contact with the judicial system or have dropped out of school. The staff teach marketable culinary skills, and help participants fill in educational gaps, gain confidence, and become job ready. Please join us in hearing Karli’s experiences in empowering young women.
