Feeding the Hungry
Feeding the hungry is one of the active ways we support our community and serve God’s people.
The Night Ministry
We prepare food in the church kitchen and serve it on the second Tuesday evening of each month in a Chicago neighborhood served by The Night Ministry. For more information, contact Amy Mendelson.
Interfaith Action of Evanston
We prepare healthful lunches served buffet style every second Friday of the month for the needy of Evanston. We start at 10:30 and end at 1:30 pm. For more information or to volunteer, contact Ginny Johnson.
We also prepare six gallons of hearty soup to be served at the Hemenway Soup at Six dinner service on Tuesdays. Soups are prepared in the Northminster kitchen, frozen then delivered when needed. You can volunteer to make soup at any time by contacting Carol Lounsbury.
Food preparation is open to all, but servers must be 18 years or older.
We collect about $200 per month from members who deposit their loose change in the offering plate each Sunday. The money is distributed to various local, regional, and national organizations that feed the hungry. For more information, contact Kurt Peters.
