Message from our Senior Pastor

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Welcome to our webpage!

For many of us, the virus that causes COVID19 is an unprecedented inconvenience; for many others, it is a threat to livelihoods or economic wellbeing; to still others it is a threat to health and life itself. But it is not a threat to the Church of Jesus Christ or our corner of it. The church is being and will keep being the church, even if we have to do it a different way for a while. We are praying and we will continue to pray for all. We will weep with those who mourn, walk with those who struggle, and work to alleviate suffering where we can. In that, we follow Christ.

This strange and frightening time need not be simply that sad time when everything went a bit haywire. This can also be the time we remember and reclaim who each of us is—how we are blessed to be here with and for one another, how we are taking the time to see things as they are—how privileged we are, how much we have that really matters, and how we can appreciate one another and our blessings in ways that will make us a blessing to God’s world not just in this crisis, but in the years that follow.

“Let the church be the church” and until we are gathered again in person for worship, we hope to see you for Facebook live worship every Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

In Christ’s Peace,
Michael D. Kirby,
Senior Pastor
