Service as Worship Sunday, June 18th

Categories: Events

On Sunday June 18th, Pastors Michael and Jessica, instead of inviting you to our regular worship service, are inviting you to a Day of Service as Worship. Pastor Michael will be with 120 others on their way to serve in Kentucky with the Appalachian Service Project, and dozens of Northminster folks are already scheduled to run or walk or volunteer at the YWCA’s Race Against Hate. We encourage all to find a way to give back to the community on June 18th.

Here at Northminster, we will gather in Logan Hall and, after our abbreviated worship service of hymns, prayers and reflection with Pastor Jessica, there will be service projects sponsored by the Mission & Social Justice Committee for Bill’s Pills and Sarah’s Circle.  We will be washing “Bill’s Pills” bottles and getting them ready to ship to the office of the International Health Confederation Fund (for African Christian Hospitals) in Arkansas. There will be several wash and rinse stations set up in Logan Hall. It is work that can be done sitting down! Bill’s Pills takes your empty medicine containers and refurbishes them for Africa’s medical teams.

Also, for Sarah’s Circle, there will be tables set up for separating and packaging personal toiletry items. If you have any travel-sized toiletries to donate, please bring them. Or you can drop them off at church at any time.  Put your donations in the bins labeled “Sarah’s Circle” just outside the elevator on the lower level. For a list of items needed, click here.

Please join us in these worthy projects on Service as Worship Sunday.
