This past Friday evening, June 9th, a number of us went up to Libertyville to serve with Feed My Starving Children, packing nutritious meals to be sent to hungry people around the world.
This past Sunday, June 11th, we met in the youth room for a special end-of-the-year game day. Emotions and laughter ran high as team “Couch, Couch, Couch” battled it out with team “Watermelon Flavored Ice Cream” in our first game of Fishbowl. This was our final Junior High Sunday School for the summer.
This past Sunday, June 11th, was the ASP commissioning service. Many senior highers, Northminster adults, and friends from our surrounding communities are gearing up for Saturday, June 17th, when we will be heading down to Kentucky to help give our neighbors to the south homes that are warmer, safer and drier.
On the Sunday that we return, June 25th, we will have the ASP welcome home church service. In the afternoon we are encouraging folks to join us as we march in the Chicago Pride Parade. We’ll meet at the staging area prior to the start of the parade. This is a great opportunity to sport our new Northminster T-shirts! Then we can relax and unwind at the ASP potluck in the park (and backyard) at Al Williams’ house from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
