Northminster Church Committees

Building and Grounds Committee
Charged with the upkeep, maintenance, and renovation of all church property including the church building and manse (Pastor's house).
Christian Education Committee
Provides oversight, budgeting, planning, and support for the Christian Education program. Its subcommittees include: Adult Education, Children's Ministries, Nursery School Advisory Board, Library, and Nursery/Toddler.
Endowment Committee
Manages and oversees the investment of the church's financial holdings to ensure an adequate return on investments and a responsible use of financial assets. The committee also encourages members to make bequests that further support Northminster's future.
Fellowship Committee
Plans and holds various church wide events throughout the year designed to encourage fellowship and connection among members. The committee also supports and encourages the formation of small groups of members attempting to connect with others in the community around common interests.
Finance Committee
Responsible for the budgeting and tracking of all church revenue and expenses. In conjunction with the Endowment Committee, Finance also makes recommendations regarding the management of all financial assets.
Membership Committee
Focuses its work on greeting visitors, welcoming new members, and encouraging church involvement of all members in the Northminster community.
Mission and Society Committee
Educates and involves church members in mission projects on a local and global basis. It oversees the allocation of the Northminster mission budget, deciding which agencies and projects will be funded. The Task Force of the Americas, Change Hunger Program, Family Promise North Shore Program, and other temporary and standing groups are subcommittees of Mission. Opportunities exist for short-term volunteer work, mission support/discovery trips and long-term activity leadership. Northminster members are encouraged to choose how they may offer their talents.
Nominating Committee
Charged by the congregation with the responsibility of bringing a slate of qualified Elders and Deacons before the community each year for election to office. In addition, they nominate the Pastor Nominating Committee and new Nominating Committee members.
Personnel Committee
Oversees the hiring and evaluation of all employees. Also charged with providing job descriptions and employment policies for all Northminster staff.
Stewardship Committee
Assists in interpreting both the spiritual and financial dimensions of stewardship for Northminster members. Responsible for planning and mounting the annual stewardship campaign, which encourages members to support the work of the congregation through an annual pledge.
Worship and Music Committee
In cooperation with the Pastor and music professionals, helps plan and evaluate Northminster's worship services. This committee manages the many details of making sure the Sunday worship services run smoothly.
