Worship Service

Communion Bread and WineWhether you are already part of our faith community, or are planning to visit for the first time, you are welcome to join us at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday in the sanctuary at Northminster, the centerpiece of our spiritual life together.

Anchored by the good news of the Gospel, worship at Northminster:
  • Affirms God’s inclusive love and presence in our lives
  • Challenges our minds and touches our hearts
  • Offers a safe place to ponder questions of faith and its relevance in our lives
  • Provides comfort in times of need

We gather for a traditional service of singing, prayer, sermons and readings from scripture that reflect our Presbyterian roots. Yet we are open to experiences that offer creative expressions of the Word through music, drama, movement and art—all for the glory and honor of God.

During the service, child care is provided for kids under the age of five. Children from kindergarten through middle school join the first portion of worship, then leave for Sunday School after the children’s sermon.

Communion

We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of each month, and welcome anyone who professes Jesus Christ as Lord to join our open table.

Fellowship

You are invited to share fellowship with us following worship at coffee hour in Logan Hall, to learn more about the life of our congregation.

Nourished by the Word and connected to each other and to God, we depart, strengthened and renewed, to serve until we meet for worship once again.

Easter & Christmas Eve

We offer two services on Easter, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Child care is available. Lenten services are held on Thursdays in the chapel.

Our family Christmas Eve service is at 4 p.m. and adult service is at 10:30 p.m. Advent services are held on Thursdays in the chapel.
